Jesus’ set himself apart, entirely, even through humiliation and death, for God and for us.

Read John
17:19 “For them I sanctify
myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.”
Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me;
yet not my will, but yours be done.”
To be sanctified is to be holy and set apart for God. Jesus lived a
perfect life and set Himself apart to completely do all God’s will; this
culminated in Him going to death for our sin.
His death has given us opportunity to receive forgiveness and new life –
our sanctification is only possible because Jesus sanctified Himself In
obedience and death for us.
Have you received Jesus as your ‘sanctifier’ in the fullness of the
term?
·
Firstly, is Jesus your substitute? Do you
live and rest in Jesus’ death for your sin? You are saved by His work alone!
·
Secondly, do you see that He died so that you
would, in turn, live for God in an ever-deeper manner?
Let’s be those who rest and work hard: we rest in our unshakeable
acceptance, but we work hard to be more and more pleasing.
