Saturday’s
devotional blog: Imagine how your outlook on life would be if you completely
trusted that God ruled over all circumstances. Let’s learn to live with the
same faith as Jesus who trusted that all things fulfilled God’s will and word.
To meditate/pray upon
John 15:25 “But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law:
‘They hated me without reason.’”
John 12:37-38 ‘Even after Jesus had performed so many signs in
their presence, they still would not believe in him. This was to fulfill the word of Isaiah the prophet: “Lord,
who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the Lord been
revealed?”’
Everything serves the great purposes of God
for His own glory.
Ephesians 1:11 ‘In him we were also chosen,
having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything
in conformity with the purpose of his will.’
No matter what we face each day, God loves
us, loves His church and is working all things according to His unstoppable
will.
We may, as the context of John 15 makes
clear, have days of great trial, but we can rest assured that God is still on
the throne. Even the death of Christ, even though carried out by the sin of
men, was never the less in accord with God’s will and promised in scripture,
Acts 4:27-28 “Indeed Herod and Pontius Pilate
met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to
conspire against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed. They
did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.”
Let’s ‘remain in the vine through word, prayer
and trust. The closer your relationship with Jesus, the greater will be your
awe and faith in God, and so greater will become your ability to joyfully
endure and bear fruit in all circumstances.
