Many in our time have no idea who Jesus is or that He could be the
answer to their deepest needs. Are you growing in knowledge and skill at
sharing your faith?
To meditate/pray upon
John 15:21 “They will treat you this way because of my name, for
they do not know the one who sent me.”
1 Peter 3:14-15 'But even if you should suffer for what is right, you
are blessed. “Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened.” But
in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to
everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do
this with gentleness and respect...'
The Jews in Jesus’ day were waiting for the Messiah, the Saviour King
who had been promised. Never the less, even though Jesus came with such
convincing signs, they rejected Him because they could not believe that He was
their promised Saviour.
How much more is it the case that many in our culture and time have no
idea who Jesus is, or that He could be the answer to their deepest needs.
Let’s be those who are growing in our knowledge and skill at sharing
about who Jesus is and our story of meeting Him. The Case for Christ, for example, is a good book that will help you to grow in this regard. Let’s
ensure that we face each day with a preparedness to share our faith
whatever the cost, and that we have thought about how to best argue for the
historical Jesus.
