Suffering
for Christ always leads to fruit for Christ! Let’s be filled with a great
vision of the transformation for ourselves and others – the fruitfulness that
is on the other side of a preparedness to suffer for Christ.
To meditate/pray upon
John 15:20 “Remember what I told you: ‘A
servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will
persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.”
Acts 18:10 “For I am with you, and no one is
going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.”
John 12:24 “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat
falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it
produces many seeds.”
Our experience will mirror His
If we seek to follow Jesus as a witness for Him, our experience will
mirror His:
Some will reject but others will accept the gospel. We will lose motivation
if we expect everyone to respond favourably; but be assured there are many
‘elect’ around you each day!
What is certain is if we are not willing to suffer like Christ, we will
not bear fruit like Christ; one cannot have one without the other!
Jesus’ suffering and death has led to the salvation of us all. Although
none of us die to save people from their sin, like Christ, if we lay our lives
down in love for others, we will see the fruit of salvation and transformation.
Let’s be filled with a great vision of the transformation of ourselves
and others – the fruitfulness that is on the other side of a preparedness to
suffer for Christ.
