John
15:3 "You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you."
Christians have
been cleansed by Christ. We are ‘clean’ because we heard and believed the
‘word’, the message of the gospel; you are justified (accounted guilt free) by
faith in Christ alone who took your sin upon Himself on the cross.
We are ‘already
clean’! We are not made cleaner by our getting better in some way; the day we
accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour, we are as righteous as we will ever be!
Are you assured of
your acceptance and total righteousness in Christ? Do you find yourself doing
things in order to gain others' or God's acceptance? Are you driven by guilt?
How do you cope when you make mistakes, fall into sin, feel rejected by others?
Knowing that we are 'clean' and loved by God is the foundation for coping with
life well.

John 5:24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and
believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has
crossed over from death to life.”
Romans 3:21-25 ‘But now apart from the law the righteousness of God
has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given
through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference
between Jew and Gentile, for
all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption
that came by Christ Jesus. God
presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his
blood’
